SUIDI (Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Investigation Training)

The Alabama Department of Public Health will sponsor Child Injury & Death Scene Re-enactment and Scene Reconstruction/SUIDI Trainings. Days 1 and 2 of this training will provide officers with hands-on training and thought-provoking lectures/discussion while providing invaluable investigation skills. The training allows investigators to advance their overall skills in working sleep-related death and child abuse cases. Numerous real-life scenarios accompanied by doll reenactment, scene reconstruction and role-playing are incorporated throughout this training. Overall, this training will increase the officers’ knowledge and confidence to thoroughly investigate these types of cases leading to more accurate determinations of the cause and manner of death.
